Aleksandra Batura was born in 1982 in Augustów, Poland. She lives and works in Warsaw. She defended her PhD thesis in 2015 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, under the supervision of prof. Andrzej Bednarczyk. In 2010, she received a scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, (the fulfillment of a painting project at the Academy of Art in Macerata as well as in Rome). She graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 2008. In 2006, she studied film animation at the Animate Film Studio at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Before this, Aleksandra studied at Universidade do Porto in Portugal under the supervision of prof. Francisco Laranjo where she worked in collaboration with others on a stained-glass windows design. She has done numerous projects and completions of mural paintings Aleksandra's work can be found in many national and international collections.
